Munoz
Carlos Munoz is the Australian Government’s Trade Representative for the State of Florida in the USA. Carlos has been involved in business and international market development for over 9 years.
Based in Miami, Carlos is responsible for expanding Australian exports into Florida and beyond. Through formal networks and virtual teams, Carlos is responsible for generating business for Australian companies in sectors such as food and beverage, recreational marine, technology, fashion and consumer products.
Carlos is a Sister Cities International (Australian Committee) active collaborator and forms part of the International Business Council of South Florida as Commerce Ambassador.
Prior to relocating to Miami, Carlos was a Senior Business Development Manager in the Austrade Santiago office where he spent 6 years assisting Australian companies entering, developing and achieving business success in Chile and other Latin American markets. With an extensive contact network, Carlos has assisted companies enter not only into the US but the rest of Latin America.
Prior to joining Austrade, Carlos was a business and strategy consultant with Accenture and also a Business Administration Professor at UGM University. While in Chile, Carlos was a Director to the Chile-Australia Chamber of Commerce.
Carlos was educated in both the United States and Chile and holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration as well as a 'Magna Cum Laude' MBA Degree from UGM University in Chile. He is currently studying his second Executive MBA in International Business at Florida Atlantic University.
Carlos has a passion for the diverse cultures found in North America, and the colourful geography of Latin America and Australia. In his spare times, he enjoys reading, rock music, poetry and playing electric guitar.
