Kirk, a Seattle native, started his career at Nordstrom in the mid-1980s, arguably the heyday for the fashion giant. Before Microsoft, Costco and Starbucks put Seattle corporations on the Fortune 500 map, Seattle was known primarily for Boeing planes and Nordstrom stores - both benchmarks of quality in their respective industries.

Flawless customer service was the “Nordy” mandate, and Kirk experienced firsthand how much loyalty that engenders. Lesson learned: going the extra mile for the customer is simple and it works. Kirk decided that, if he ever had his own company, he would apply that principle. It is the foundation on which Down Under Answers is built.

In 1992, after backpacking around the world and spending several months in the South Pacific, Kirk started Down Under Answers (DUA). Since this time, DUA has become one of the leading South Pacific Wholesale Travel companies in the U.S, with a team of 35 people dedicated to selling Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands.
