The Australian Festival Is Set For Big Celebration in South Florida

The 2007 Australian Festival will be held in Greater Fort Lauderdale - Broward County, Florida on November 1-4, 2007. The Australian Festival promotes Australian arts & culture, tourism & travel, education & immigration and business & trade within our 3 premier events - Business Down Under, G'Day Mates Schools Program - and our flagship event - The Australian Festival.

Fort Lauderdale is known as the "Venice of America" due to its expansive and intricate canal system and is the capital city of Broward County, Florida, United States. The city is known for its beaches, many bars, nightclubs, and overall party atmosphere. Broward County has approximately 1,750,000 residence and is made up of 31 city municipalities governed by nine Broward County Commissioners. Fort Lauderdale is the county seat of Broward County, and forms a part of the South Florida metropolitan area. Broward County is connected to two other counties that make up South Florida - Miami-Dade (approximately 2,000,000 residents) and Palm Beach County (approximately 1,250,000 residents).

The Australian Festival has officially launched all participant applications. There has never been a better opportunity to promote Australia within the diverse areas of the Australian Festival. Festival Applications close July 31, 2007 which will allow the Australian Festival 3 months of direct general public marketing and public relations in South Florida. The Festival has approximately 50 hours of music, entertainment & presentations with 20 hours of sports action scheduled for this years event. Chairman & CEO Brigitte von Bulow has estimated an attendance of over 25,000 at this years event.

With over 5,000,000 residents in this dense populated area the Australian Festival is set to present the largest Australian showcase every staged in South Florida. And with over 5,000 Aussie living and working along the South Florida coastline it will truly be a unique cultural celebration of the land down under.

About The Australian Festival:

Founded in 1997, the Australian Festival is an Australian celebration founded in Nashville, Tennessee. From the early days of the Festival, a commitment to Australian authenticity - matched with quality and attention to detail - has produced the largest Australian showcase in North America.

Over 50,000 patrons have attended the Festival since its inception, enjoying Australian arts & culture, tourism & travel, education & immigration and business & trade -  all from the Land Down Under. The Australian Festival features 10 key areas and operates 4 premier events that provide a unique Australian experience for the whole family.

Supporting SOS Children's Villages - Florida:

SOS Children's Villages - Florida provides a home, family and support services to abused, abandoned or severely neglected foster children who have no imminent plan for adoption or reunification with their birth families. Many have never before experienced a stable family life, the opportunity to put down roots, or a place that they can call home.

SOS is located on an eight acre cul-de-sac in Coconut Creek and borders Broward and Palm Beach counties. Our Village features 11 single-family homes, a community center, counseling center and an administration building. Help for the children is always right next door or right down the street.
