Australian Festival GOES GREEN!
July 17, 2007
It is with great pleasure
that we introduce you to the new Green
Down Under site now located on our Festivals website. As a lifelong Environmentalist, it warms my heart to see that at last many more people and children start to realize that what has happened to our Planet Earth the last 60 years or so, could not continue and that we were on the way destroying all that is beautiful, clean and healthy (air, water,
nature, animals becoming extinct etc).
We have now Governments becoming more involved, like our own Australian Government under the leadership of our Prime Minister, John Howard, with his Global initiative on Forests and Climate and the opening of a Fund with a grant of 200 million dollars as start to encourage every and all other nation in the world doing the same and help save the Forests and world from any further Global Warming destruction.
And then the SOS Earth 24 hours of 7/7/07, a brainchild of Al Gore, and the signing on 13/7/07 of revolutionary *green* laws to battle the global warming and destruction of nature, by Florida's own Governor, Charlie Crist, to mention a few remarkable achievements.
Our Festival is dedicated to promoting an eco friendly environment, raising awareness about what the *plastic* culture does to our wildlife and oceans, how we all can , in our own way, do our bit in reducing carbon-dioxide fumes in the air and simply being more aware and responsible *earth citizens*. We have only one earth and it is a beauty. We should care for it with our heart.
Green Down Under can be reached by directly linking to www.greendownunder.com
- or selecting our Green Down Under button on your left menu. This site shall become a site of much information, links and people who are contributing to do the right thing for our
planet.
So welcome, and lets all become the savers of our beautiful planet. We can do it!!!
PS we are also going to launch a contest, art, made of recycled products, for students. We shall have fabulous prices for the best art work, all in the name
of The Australian Festival, for the best creations.
And last but not least: you can always email me with thoughts or links you feel should be put on the website and other ideas you might have.
Cheers,
