The 2007 Australian Festival will be held in Greater Fort Lauderdale - Broward County, Florida. Fort Lauderdale is known as the "Venice of America" due to its expansive and intricate canal system and is the capital city of Broward County, Florida, United States. With over 5,000,000 residents in this dense populated area the Australian Festival is set to present the largest Australian showcase every staged in South Florida. And with over 5,000 Aussie living and working along the South Florida coastline it will truly be a unique cultural celebration of the land down under

We need your help to make this event a great success. There is a host of areas and needs and we are asking everyone to really step up and help us make history in our first year in Florida. An estimated 300 volunteer hours are required for this years event. When you become a volunteer at the Australian Festival you join Team Australia as we work together to put on this great international event in South Florida. 

Volunteers are required in all festival areas from Thursday October 31, 2007 all the way through to Monday November 5, 2007 when the festival finishes: 

• Setup and logistic crews...

• Administration and entrance booths...

• Staffing for The Festival Shop...

• Music and hospitality chaperones and staffing...

• Kids Down Under & G'Day Mates supervisors... 

• Mascots, stage hands, product handling...

• Parking and Direction attendants...

• Internships available with potential class credits...

• Supporting SOS Children's Villages - Florida...

All Festival volunteers will be provided with a festival tee shirt and drink vouchers provided to any volunteers that work at least 2 * two hour shifts concurrently. This year we are all being asked to step up to the big leagues as the Australian Festival consolidates itself as one of South Florida's premier cultural events while continuing to hold the title of Australia's largest festival celebration outside of Australia! We really need your HELP!
